There are many ways to make sense of what we go through. Our personal history, relationships, environment, body and inner life can each shed a different light on our experience.
Astrology adds another dimension through the language of symbols. It does not replace these other ways of understanding, nor does it claim to explain, on its own, who we are or what we are going through.
At Alkymissia, astrology takes its place alongside these different ways of understanding and in dialogue with them.

What I mean by integrative astrology.
Integrating Does Not Mean Explaining Everything Through Astrology
When I speak of integrative astrology, I am not referring to a new school of astrology, nor to a method designed to bring different disciplines together into a single system.
Here, integrative describes a way of giving astrology its place without separating what it may illuminate from the wider context of your experience.
An astrological configuration can shed light on a dynamic you are going through. But that dynamic also exists within a personal history, relationships, a particular life context, an inner world and, sometimes, a physical reality. These different dimensions are not in competition with one another: they can complement each other, add nuance and, at times, call each other into question.
My practice is informed in particular by psychological astrology, depth psychology and psychosynthesis. They enrich the way I think and listen, but I do not seek to combine them into a single interpretive framework.
Here, integration is less about adding more tools than about preserving the complexity of the person and what they are experiencing.
More than one way to make sense of an experience.
Connecting Rather Than Reducing
The same experience can be understood in several ways.
A period of fatigue may have a physical reality. A career change may be linked to concrete circumstances as much as to an inner transformation. A relationship that is changing may reawaken an old story while opening a new chapter in life.
These interpretations are not necessarily mutually exclusive. They sometimes speak to different dimensions of the same experience.
Astrological language can find its place among them. It allows us to observe certain developments from a symbolic perspective, to reveal connections, or to reframe a question that is already present.
The goal, then, is not to seek the “right” explanation, but to let multiple perspectives engage in dialogue until a broader understanding can emerge.
A symbol does not erase reality. It can help us see it in a different light.
Your experience comes first.
When Symbolism Meets Lived Experience
An astrological interpretation only becomes meaningful when it enters into dialogue with what you are actually experiencing.
The same astrological configuration can be expressed in very different ways from one person to another. Its meaning cannot be separated from the life in which it takes shape. Symbols can open up new avenues of understanding, but they can never replace listening to how those dynamics actually unfold for you.
This is why I do not try to fit your experience into a predetermined interpretation.
I offer possibilities, which we explore in relation to what you are living through. Through this dialogue, they may become clearer, shift or sometimes prove irrelevant.
Your experience is not there to validate astrology.
Astrological interpretation must remain in service of your experience.
What this approach to astrology does not claim to do.
Astrology can open up possibilities, bring certain dynamics into focus or give symbolic form to questions you may be exploring. But it cannot explain everything — nor do I believe it should.
I do not use astrology to predict with certainty what will happen, to reveal some hidden “true self”, or to define a life purpose you are expected to follow.

Nor is astrology meant to make decisions for you, or to replace other ways of understanding or forms of support when they are needed.
These boundaries do not, in my view, diminish the value of astrology. On the contrary, they allow it to remain a space for reflection rather than a source of authority.

When familiar ways of understanding no longer feel quite enough
Sometimes, we can describe what is happening to us quite clearly and still struggle to understand what the experience is touching or changing within us.
The explanations we already have may still be relevant, yet they do not always tell the whole story: an inner shift may be difficult to name, a familiar question may keep returning, we may feel increasingly out of step, or simply sense the need for another way of understanding.
This is often where symbolic language can become meaningful.
Astrology does not provide the missing explanation. Instead, it can open up another space for understanding, where things that once seemed disconnected may begin to come together: a particular time in your life, inner tensions, aspirations, or emerging inner movements.
It does not necessarily provide answers. It can help us approach the questions we are living with differently.
